In the spring of 2016, cartoonist Erwin Vanmol launched a crowdfunding to share his passion for beer with the world. Not much later, the then 15-year-old Jan Panneels became Erwin’s assistant. Together they form Vrijstaat Vanmol Brewing.

How it all started
For a long time, cartoonist Erwin Vanmol’s beer passion was limited to tasting quality beers, home brewing and designing labels for both Belgian and American brewers. In 2016, he found a suitable brewing location in the Flemish Brabant town of Eizeringen and founded the microbrewery Vrijstaat Vanmol Brewing.
While developing and brewing new recipes, Erwin is assisted by his brewing assistant and partner Jan Panneels.

Discover Gronckel Blond, and all our other beers on our webshop. The beers of Vrijstaat Vanmol are, in line with the centuries-old Brabant tradition, brewed with barley malt, wheat and oats.

Organizations and companies wishing to have a special beer or personalized label developed on the occasion of an event or anniversary can also count on Vrijstaat Vanmol Brewing. Jan and Erwin already have a lot of experience in that field.
Scouts, cultural associations, service clubs and companies such as Cohiba Atmosphere, VIER (Gert Late Night) and the regional airline Air Antwerp have already relied on Erwin and Jan’s skills in this regard.
